Our Two Week Summer Tour held at the conclusion of our Summer Study and Travel Programs offers participants an excellent way to see some of the most famous sights of China on a relaxed and unique route.
The tour begins and concludes in Shanghai. The cost of the tour is US$1000 and includes all accommodations, travel, sightseeing, admissions and three meals a day (with the exception of a few free evenings to allow participants to explore on their own).

SHANGHAI: The tour begins in Shanghai where we will take a city tour visiting such sights as the Jade Buddha Temple, Yu Yuan Bazaar, The Bund, Pudong and the Shanghai Museum as well as going to an acrobatic show.

Hangzhou: There is an ancient Chinese proverb: "In the sky there is heaven, on earth there is Hangzhou and Suzhou." Our first stop has been a famous Chinese destination for thousands of years. Its beautiful West Lake and surrounding gardens and hills inspired a Chinese emperor to build the Grand Canal to facilitate travel to the city from the capital in Beijing. We will spend two days exploring the city and tasting its famous cuisine.

Tunxi: This quaint little town at the base of Huang Shan is not only a convenient jumping-off point for the mountain, but also boasts a charming "Old Street" where antiques from all over China are sold in a traditional style market that hasn’t changed for over 100 years.

Huangshan: The most acclaimed natural park in China. These mist shrouded jagged peaks and deformed trees have inspired Chinese painters and poets for thousands of years. We’ll take the cable car up in the morning, spend an evening at the summit, and descend the following morning. We’ll have a day to wander around and take in the serene beauty of these mountains and, weather permitting, witness a spectacular sunrise and sunset.

Nanjing: This former capital has become a major industrial, commercial, and educational center in China. It is a lively city with numerous historical sites and beautiful parks. During our stay we will visit the Sun Yat Sen Mausoleum and surrounding parks, Confucian Temple, Nanjing Massacre Memorial , the Yangtze River Bridge, etc.

SUZHOU: Our final stop before returning to Shanghai, this charming city is famous for its romantic canals, beautifully landscaped gardens, ancient pagodas, and a famous 800 year old bridge spanning the Grand Canal. En route from Nanjing to Suzhou we will stop for lunch at Lake Tai (Tai Hu).
